Grit, Developing Kids with Resilience and Persistence
January 26, 2017

Psychologist, Angela Duckworth, has studied the role that character plays in success.  Her findings, published in the best-selling book, "GRIT," is that sheer talent is not the key to success, in school or in life.  Join Hollis Staff Amy St.Hilaaire, Ellen Lenscak, and MaryLee Walsh to explore this concept and learn more about supporting your own child's GRIT!

This event will be held at Hollis/Brookline Middle School, on Thursday, January 19, 2017, from 6:15-7:15 pm.  Childcare, for four and over, and pizza will be available for those who register in advance.  If using this option, please consider a donation of $2 per child.  Registration is available here:  https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/6QQZK3G.

On Thursday, November 17, 2016, HEPTA debuted a new series called, "Parent Talks."  It has been designed and will be sponsored in conjunction with the Hollis Elementary Schools.  The first talk was presented by the Parent Talks chair, Charity Bell, regarding Gratitude, How Giving Thanks Builds Happier and More Resilient Kids (and Adults).  The video is below.
